Start with the Brazil application

An English resume for Brazil-based international roles needs more than a direct translation of a Portuguese curriculum. Choose evidence for the target vacancy, explain local employers where needed and use clear functional terms without changing the facts of your career.

Distinguish a commercial resume from an academic CV. A research application may request publications and a detailed academic record, while a business role needs a focused account of relevant work. Confirm the document purpose before deciding the structure and length.

Check the format before writing

For an executive or technical role, show business scope, project responsibility and outcomes you can verify. Keep qualifications and language capabilities accurate. Portuguese writing, certified translation and official qualification assessment are not included in the English service.

Use conventional section headings and selectable text. Keep the reading order straightforward, and check that contact details survive a plain-text copy of the file. Submit the file type the employer requests. There is no universal ATS score or layout that guarantees shortlisting.

Turn a duty into useful evidence

A commercial manager could explain a planning problem, the analysis and decisions they owned and the verified business outcome, making the context understandable without assuming knowledge of the local employer.

For each important claim, record the context, your own action and a result you can explain. When a numerical result is unavailable, use a concrete outcome such as a completed implementation, a resolved issue or an approved process. The purpose is accuracy and relevance, not a number in every sentence.

• Remove claims you cannot support in an interview.
